Product Knowledge

All standard models work with hall-sensor motors, and our AI self-adaptive learning algorithm offers universal compatibility with different motor electrical characteristics — no manual parameter configuration is required each time. The A300 and A800 additionally support hub motors and IPM mid-drive motors. Reverse operation is supported, up to the motor type.

IP67 means the controller is dust-tight and can withstand immersion in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. Riding in heavy rain, through puddles or washing the vehicle with a hose is not a problem. Inside, we additionally use market-proven waterproof potting glue with twice the average heat-conducting efficiency of counterpart products.

FOC (field-oriented control) drives the motor with smooth sinusoidal currents — quiet and efficient. DTC (direct torque control) maps the rider's throttle input directly and linearly to motor torque for instant, predictable response. FREECON controllers combine both: sinusoidal FOC drive with DTC for riding comfort and intuitive control in various conditions.

Bluetooth connection with a cellphone app enables easy, foolproof set-up of system configurations — speed levels, drive modes, current limits and more. The app also performs default hall-sensor repair to minimize the impact of sensor failures on riding. For fleet applications, RS485 / Uart / CAN bus / SiF protocols allow integration with IoT platforms and displays.

Ordering & Customization

Yes — besides standard products, we develop customized solutions for customers worldwide. Our proprietary firmware architecture allows fast firmware customization; PCB design and prototypes are usually feasible within 2 weeks; and we offer four controller platforms allowing multiple use cases. Contact us with your motor, voltage and performance requirements.

Ideally: motor type (hub / mid-drive, hall-sensor or not), rated voltage and power, phase current or torque requirements, drive mode (throttle / PAS / torque sensor), communication protocol (RS485 / Uart / CAN / SiF), connector preferences and target annual volume. Photos or datasheets of the motor and display speed up the process.

Standard products ship from our Nanjing factory within days depending on stock and volume. Custom projects: firmware adaptation is fast thanks to our own architecture, and a prototype is usually feasible within about 2 weeks of PCB design. Mass production schedules are confirmed per project.

Quality & Service

Our solutions are offered to and tested by about 4 million users each year. Key reliability features include closed current loop control (prevents damaging power surges), phase-wire protection (continued safe riding during short/open circuit), die-cast alloy casings and 100% functional testing before shipment from our in-house production line.

A local service point in the US provides telephone and logistics support. We offer barrier-free, all-English communication — especially in joint product development and technical support — English product documentation and training manuals, product training at customer request, and OTA remote diagnostics / firmware update in development.

Business & Technical Updates

Yes — our genuine FOC-DTC solutions for EPACs (including three-wheeled cargo bikes) are compliant with the latest EN 13849 safety standard. We continuously track regulatory developments in the EU and North America and update our platforms accordingly.

Connectivity is becoming standard: 4G, GPS, Bluetooth and smart-lock integration are now baseline requirements for shared fleets. With the growing popularity of IoT technology, we are integrating connectivity into our drive systems, and OTA (over-the-air) diagnostics and firmware update are in development — making every e-bike smarter and easier to service.

The trend is toward higher voltage and phase current in the same compact package. Our Gen4 platform already supports motors above 10,000 RPM, and our copper-plate PCB design (instead of conventional tin soldering) allows higher current for better reliability in high-power use. The A800 tops the range today at 96V / 550 A phase current / 5000 W.
